210 - Annual Student Notices

Title:  Annual Student Notices
Owner:
Executive Director, Registrar Operations and Academic Compliance
Last Update/Revised: 02/25/2021

Policy: Federal and state laws require universities to provide students, parents, and/or the community with notices. Federal agencies often create "sample" notices that can be easily tailored. All notices must be distributed and maintained by the appropriate departments to ensure deadlines are met. For example:

  • Family Educational Rights and Privacy (FERPA) - Office of the Registrar
  • Constitution Day - Financial Aid Office
  • Catalog Updates - Office of the Registrar
  • Substance Use and Abuse - Financial Aid Office
  • Voter Registration - Financial Aid Office
  • Student Consumer Information - Office of the Registrar

Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to communicate with the university community at least annually on consumer information, privacy policies, and other information required by state or federal agencies.

Scope: This policy applies to all responsible departments.
