1-12 Academic Structure of Colleges
USU is a multi-faceted organization comprised of colleges/schools, housing departments, and programs. As such, it is divided along functional lines in both the administrative and instructional areas of service. The academic structure of the University results in colleges. With College growth, a part- or full-time Dean may be appointed. In the absence of a Dean, the Provost will collaborate with the program lead faculty to fulfill a Dean role when required. Reporting to the Provost, a Dean has primary responsibility for maintaining the integrity and academic excellence of the College’s programs in consultation with the College Faculty. The Library, Faculty Support, the Registrar, and Advising units are also included within the USU Academic Affairs unit.
