Policy: United States University (USU) examines both academic and professional qualifications of all applicants prior to admission. Admission decisions are based on the congruence of the applicant's educational interests.
Detailed information on USU's Policy on the Basis for Admission can be found in the University Catalog and Policy Manual.
Should a student wish to appeal an admission decision the appeal must represent new and significant academic or compelling information that was not presented previously at the time of application. This appeal should be stronger than when originally submitted. Without this information the University will not approve an appeal and the original admission decision will stand.
Purpose: The purpose of this policy is to provide a process for applicants who wish to appeal an admission decision.
Procedure:
- Students who wish to appeal denial of admission must formally submit an appeal form along with supporting documentation to the Office of the Registrar at registrar@usuniversity.edu.
-
The Office of the Registrar will review the appeal and supporting documents to make sure everything has been provided prior to notifying the College Dean.
-
The College Dean will appoint a committee within 10 business days of receiving the appeal.
-
The student will receive an email response no later than 15 business days from the initial submission of the appeal.
Scope: The scope of this policy applies to all applicants (new and returning) seeking admission with United States University whose application was denied.
