Payment, Student Aid and Loan Resources

USU currently does not offer any financial aid, institutional loans, or scholarships for students under an F-1 status. However, other resources may be available for those students seeking financial assistance by third-parties. EducationUSA is a U.S. Department of State network that may have more resources on how to plan accordingly to pay for your tuition and fees associated with your program of study.

Student Payment Policies

Under SEVP, an applicant must provide evidence of sufficient funds to cover estimated tuition and living expenses while attending the university for an academic year. Students are registered a semester at a time. Therefore, international students must submit their semester's tuition and fee payment no later than 10 days prior to the start of a semester in order to participate in course(s).

In mitigating circumstances, if a student finds themselves having severe economic hardship USU may work with a student on a limited payment plan. Severe economic hardship will be reviewed and be in alignment as defined within this section under On and Off-Campus Employment. If a student is unable to meet the requirements of Severe Economic Hardship a payment plan will not be allowed and a student will be required to pay for full tuition and fees as established by institutional policy. Contact your DSO should you have questions about this section.
