Attendance Policy
United States University expects candidates to attend school each day that their assigned class(es) is/are in session, for the entire placement period. As such, candidates will participate in the same schedule as the Cooperating Teacher. Students must also attend the student teaching Seminars via synchronous video conferencing. The California Teaching Commission requires that all candidates complete 600 hours of student teaching regardless of school schedules, holidays, illness, etc. If a student has to be absent from the classroom they must notify their cooperating teacher and their university supervisor before the start of the school day.
