Transportation and Travel to Immersion Sites

Students must provide their own transportation to Immersion sites. Given the nature of the DNP project, it is best that students seek out their own Practice Immersion site.

The OFE is dedicated to assisting students in securing Immersion placements. If OFE assistance is requested and the student meets the requirements, OFE will make efforts to follow up on your preferences to secure an immersion site close to where you work or live, but the student may have to travel out of the city and within the state they reside or work. The OFE, in conjunction with the immersion, will attempt to minimize the distance that students travel to their Practice Immersion experience, but sometimes additional travel is unavoidable.

We know completing practice immersion hours can be challenging, but rest assured, the student learning experience is a valuable one that will guide your future as a well-prepared doctorally prepared professional.

Please note: travel time is not an appropriate reason to deny a practice immersion placement. Additionally, traveling nurses should ensure their student address is updated to reflect the location in which your practice immersion experiences will take place.
