Teacher Credentialing Program - General Information
Public school teaching credentials in the State of California are established through state legislation and regulations administered by the CTC.
In accordance with CTC requirements, USU has developed its Preliminary Multiple Subject and Single Subject Credential programs to prepare candidates to serve effectively in California's public schools.
The Board of Trustees, University Administration, and the College of Education are committed to maintaining high standards for educator preparation. Continuous assessment and evaluation throughout each credential program help ensure that candidates recommended for a California teaching credential possess the knowledge, skills, and professional dispositions necessary for success in the teaching profession.
Faculty members and University Supervisors assess candidates' professional knowledge, instructional practice, and personal and professional qualifications throughout the program using the California Teacher Performance Expectations (TPEs) and other program requirements established by the CTC.
