3-4 Annual Adjunct Faculty Pool

By agreeing to this handbook's terms, adjunct faculty shall be considered part of the annual “pool” of available instructors for the calendar year. Faculty are assumed as available to teach in any session unless USU is otherwise notified. Faculty should notify their program director/Dean one month before a session if they are not available.
Faculty will be reviewed for performance throughout the year based on the end-of-course surveys, quality of performance, and the ability to deliver an excellent educational experience. Based on a satisfactory level of review, faculty pool membership may be renewed annually.

3.4a Cancellation of Adjunct Faculty Pool Contract
USU may cancel this agreement if course enrollment is less than or falls below three students at any time before the third week of the session or for any other reason, as USU may determine in its sole and absolute discretion. In such cancellation, faculty members will be paid a pro-rate share of the compensation based on the number of class sessions taught before such cancellation. If the course is canceled before the first session, USU will have no obligation to pay the course's faculty member.
