Payment, Student Aid and Loan Resources
United States University does not offer federal financial aid, institutional loans, or scholarships to students in F-1 status. However, you may be eligible for financial assistance through private sponsors, government agencies, or other third-party organizations. You are responsible for securing sufficient funding to cover your educational and living expenses throughout your program.

Student Payment Policy
Before an I-20 can be issued, F-1 applicants must demonstrate that they have sufficient financial resources to cover the estimated cost of tuition, fees, and living expenses for at least the first academic year of study. This financial certification is an important part of the F-1 process and helps ensure that students are financially prepared to complete their program of study.
To support student success and ensure students remain in good financial standing with the University, international students are required to pay all tuition and required fees for the semester no later than 10 days before the first day of classes, unless an approved exception has been granted by the University. This policy helps prevent interruptions to enrollment resulting from unpaid tuition and ensures that students have secured the financial resources necessary to begin their studies.
In limited circumstances, students experiencing severe economic hardship may request an exception to this policy through an approved payment plan. Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must meet the University's definition of severe economic hardship, as described in the On- and Off-Campus Employment section of this handbook. Students who do not qualify for an exception are expected to pay tuition and fees in full by the established payment deadline.
If you believe you may qualify for an exception or have questions about this policy, contact your Designated School Official (DSO) as soon as possible. The DSO will review your circumstances and, when appropriate, coordinate with the appropriate University offices regarding available options.
