Letter from the Dean
Welcome to the next step in preparing for one of the most rewarding, impactful, and meaningful professions: teaching. Many of you are beginning this journey because of a teacher who made a lasting difference in your life. Take a moment to reflect on that person. What made them memorable? What qualities or experiences inspired you? Which of those strengths do you hope to bring into your own classroom? Teaching is a profession built on learning from others and as you begin your student teaching experience, I encourage you to remain open to growth and to learn from not only your Cooperating Teacher and University Supervisor, but from everyone you encounter along the way.
We are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished to reach this milestone and are excited for you to represent the very best of USU and the College of Education. As a teacher candidate, you are not only a learner, but also an ambassador for our university and educator preparation program. We are committed to your success and want every student in this program to have a positive and meaningful experience. Please remember that you have a strong support system here at the University, and we encourage you to reach out whenever you need guidance or assistance.
